Toes in the water

Hello and welcome to my first blog. My name is Natalie and I am a third year pre service teacher studying a Bachelor of Education with an Early Childhood specialisation.

I am simultaneously excited and nervous (in that order) about this course: EDC3100. I feel that I am wading in the shallows of the Digital Technologies ocean and am struggling to move past my knees as the water is too cold. But as I adjust to the temperature, I know eventually I’ll dive all the way in and splash around, enjoying the experience.

I work as a TA at a primary school with all year levels. When I watch Year 4 students working with an App on the iPad to create a environmental poster or watch alongside the preppies making connections to their sight words in a new online reader, I see how digital Technologies can enhance and engage students in new and exciting ways.

I am looking forward to learning and building my confidence, using digital technologies with students and as a tool for enhancing teaching and learning. You are welcome to follow me on my journey.

Natalie
